July 11 - July 20, 2008

Friday, July 11:

  • 9:30 a.m. 4-H Superintendents meeting for 4-H Family and Consumer Science related and other miscellaneous static exhibit, 4-H Exhibit Building
  • 9:30 a.m. 4-H Livestock Superintendents meeting, 4-H Building
  • 10:30 - 11 a.m. State 4-H Horse Show bound exhibitors enter static Exhibits - 4-H Exhibit Building.
  • 1 p.m. Work Day for 4-H Livestock clubs and set up shooting sports equipment.

Saturday, July 12:

  • 9 a.m.-4 p.m. 4-H Cafe Open
  • 9 a.m. 4-H Shooting Sports Competition at Stevens Arena
  • 1 p.m. Take down shooting sports equipment and set up for dog show
  • 2 p.m. Enter dogs
  • 3 p.m. 4-H Dog Show

Sunday, July 13:

  • 12:30 p.m. Wagon Wheel Light/Draft Horse Show at Stevens Arena

Monday, July 14:

Tuesday, July 15:

  • 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. Set up Commercial Displays
  • 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Enter Open Class in Open Class Building

Wednesday, July 16:

  • 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Enter Open Class in Open Class Building
  • 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Enter all 4-H Food, Misc., Ag, and Home Environment static (except livestock and small animals)
  • 9 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. 4-H Cafe open
  • 1 p.m. Judge all 4-H Exhibits
  • 1 p.m. Judge all Open Class Exhibits
  • 5:30 p.m Pioneer Family Farm Award and Good Neighbor - Drill Teams/Flag Corp in GRANDSTAND in case of inclement weather, it will be moved to arena. ADMISSION: $3 FOR ADULTS, $2 FOR YOUTH AND 5 YEARS AND UNDER FREE.
  • 6 - 10 p.m. Open and Commercial buildings open to the public after judging is complete
  • 6 p.m - 10 p.m. FFA Barn Open
  • 6:30 - 9 p.m. 4-H Exhibits Open to public after completion of judging.
  • Evening - Carnival open - FAMILY NIGHT
  • 7:30 p.m. FIRST ANNUAL DAWSON COUNTY FAIR PRO-AM BULL RIDING IN NEW RODEO ARENA
    Admission: $10 FOR ADULTS, $5 FOR YOUTH, 5 YEARS AND UNDER FREE

Thursday, July 17

  • 8 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. 4-H Cafe Open
  • 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. All 4-H Buildings open
  • 8 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Enter 4-H Feeder Calves and Bucket Calves
  • 8 a.m. tonoon Enter 4-H Beef, Dairy, Meat Goats, Poultry, Rabbits, Sheep and Swine
  • 12:30 p.m. 4-H Bucket Calf Show - Stevens Arena
  • 1 p.m. 4-H Feeder Calf Show - Stevens Arena
  • 3 - 4:30 p.m. Root Beer Floats courtesy of Plum Creek Bank
  • 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. Open Class Exhibits open
  • 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. All commercial displays open
  • 4:30 p.m 4-H Dairy Show (or after Feeder Calf Show) Stevens Arena
  • 6 p.m - 10 p.m. FFA Barn open
  • Evening Carnival Open

  • 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. Open Class Exhibits Open
  • 4 p.m. - 10 p.m. All Commercial Exhibits Open
  • 6 p.m. 4-H Sheep Lead Show (Wool Garment and Lamb) in Stevens Arena West Bleachers
  • 6 p.m. - 10 p.m. FFA Barn Open
  • Evening - Carnival open
  • 7:30 p.m. Demolition Derby, Grandstand
         Admission: Adult $10, Youth $5, 5 and under free

Saturday, July 19:

  • 8 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. 4-H Cafe Open

  • 8 a.m. 4-H Swine Show - Stevens Arena
  • 10:30 a.m. 4-H Meat Goat Show (or after swine show)
  • 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Enter small animals and pets (release after show)
  • 12 noon Interview and judge small animals, pets and poultry in Stevens Arena West Bleachers
  • 12:30 p.m. Carnival open
  • 1 p.m. 4-H Cat Show
  • 1 p.m. Open Class Exhibits open
  • 1 p.m. All Commercial Exhibits Open

    Admission: Advance tickets are $15, $20 at the gate
